The penalties have arrived ... and they won't leave much of a mark.
At about 10 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, Kevin Harvick took to Twitter to announce his side of the penalties for Saturday night's Darlington brawl with Kyle Busch:
Kyle Busch also received a matching four-week probationary period and a $25,000 fine.
"These penalties are a result of what occurred on pit road after the race was over," NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said in a statement. "They are about maintaining a safe environment on pit road."
Allow me to say: called it. Probation and a small fine are all that's necessary here.
Of note: both Harvick and Busch will be racing on Friday night in Dover at the Trucks race. That seems like it would be a fine place for a little chrome-horn payback, as neither driver is running for anything other than pride, vengeance and rage. But remember, probation extends across all three national series. So, maybe warfare, maybe fuzzy-bunny love taps next time these two take the track.
