Rick Hendrick hospitalized again, injuries from plane incident included four broken ribs
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team owner Rick Hendrick suffered four broken ribs in an incident in which a team plane ran off the runway upon landing at Key West International Airport Monday evening. Hendrick, his wife Linda, as well as the plane's two pilots were treated and released from Lower Keys Medical Center Tuesday morning. Hendrick was reported to have suffered a single broken rib and broken collarbone (clavicle). However, after further evaluation this week by his personal physician, Hendrick was diagnosed with four broken ribs in addition to the shoulder injury. According to a statement from Hendrick Motorsports, the owner was admitted to a local hospital due to discomfort from the injuries. He is expected to be released by the end of the week.
